Updating my review from 1 to 3 stars. After my return of the product and initial negative review, the manufacturer contacted me to offer a free watch and premium subscription for a year in exchange for my feedback and working with them on improving the product.
We have emailed back and forth and there ate still issues, but they are extremely proactive and responsive.
As scathing as my initial review was, I really think this has the potential to be a great and useful product once all the bugs are ironed out. Even though I was skeptical about their offer, color me genuinely impressed by the customer service and willingness to listen and implement changes to improve their product.

Initial review:
I am the caregiver for a husband with terminal brain cancer which affects his balance and fine mobility on one side, so I purchased this watch first and foremost for the emergency call feature: we wanted a simple solution to enable him to alert me if he fell at night or while I was working in our backyard.
While the watch records vitals as described and you can indeed check the vitals and their history via the app, that is about the only thing this watch does right. If you are looking for a functional and reliable emergency call solution, do not bother!
The emergency feature is deeply flawed and completely unreliable. Calls are not placed using your regular cell phone network but through some kind of proprietary messaging system which is only accessible inside the proprietary app. Here is what this means (Disclaimer: I only used the Android app. I have a Samsung Note 9 and my husband has a Samsung Note 8):
- when a SOS call is placed, the emergency contact only receives ONE SINGLE STANDART SYSTEM NOTIFICATION CHIME on their phone. The notification sound or volume can't even be customized via the app, there is no pop-up window, and no repetition either. If you don't spot or hear that one notification immediately, it just sits silent and hidden in your notification bar, and that's that...
- If you have heard or spotted the notification, you will need to tap it to open the app, which then displays a map with a marker locating the person sending the distress call (5-10 seconds loading delay). Once this is loaded, you will still need to tap another on-screen button to accept the distress call.
- The direct connection with the watch wearer is only being establish once you have done all that. That direct connection is very much hit or miss: we tried to place 10 calls: only 5/10 came through, and that is after a 15-20 seconds loading delay.
- The loading delay behavior was identical regardless of the Internet connection type (4G cell data or home WiFi), so it isn't related to cellular network data reception quality.
Additional issues:
- unless you pay a $19.80/month subscription, you are limited to ONE SINGLE EMERGENCY CONTACT. Even if the alert system worked reliably, this limitation very much falls within the scope of excessive nickel-and-diming, and defeats the whole purpose of a personal emergency alert system (no backup contact).
- the proprietary app has an option to enable notifications of regular cellular calls and text messages via the watch: it never worked during our tests.
I have returned the watch and will get a Silent Beacon for my husband: even though it doesn't track vitals, at least that device operates via direct Bluetooth cellular calls and also allows to designate backup emergency contacts.
We were unable to test the Emergency Contact Alert to an iPhone user as our household only has Androids, but the functionality of this watch may only be useful to iPhones.
The step counting function and general app ability of the watch itself work on Android, but the point was as an alert system for an elderly family member.
Customer service had an extremely limited understanding of anything and only had a suggestion to ensure the volume was on.
The subscription fee was not mentioned in the description online and without it only one emergency contact can be notified. A subscription is required for more than one emergency contact and the geo-fencing ability.
Poor description and advertising. I am sending this watch back and would highly recommend not buying it for more than a step counter.
A few months later she knocked it off of the counter top and the screen is ruined. There have to be better choices for this type of watch out there. I would not purchase this watch again.
